Values Worth Fighting For

Being an original "baby boomer" I am becoming more and more frustrated with the loss of values, morals and good old fashioned manners in the general populace of today. I don't mean to impose my values on any one but I certainly don't want anyone to push theirs on me either.

What some believe is right or wrong is obviously their right. Folks have the God-given right to make choices and decisions that they feel will best benefit them and theirs. The problem I have with that is some of the choices and decisions infringe on my rights and choices. There we have the problem.

An example: "If you don't like what is on TV, turn it off!" Good advice and I often follow it. But, what about those that don't turn it off and who copy the behavior and values that they see portrayed on the "tube"? Their behavior again infringes on my "space", etc. Then I have to deal with it one way or another.

So, how do we get along? Do we just hide out in our own caves; find those of like attitude and commune together, or do we try to adjust so as to not be offensive to folks and live as the Scriptures say by hot being a "stumbling block to others"?

What do you think?
